About App Studio

App Studio (U4AS) is a U4 low-code/no-code app editor that enables U4 developers, customers, consultants, and partners to extend ERPx/CR by creating Business screen apps and/or Standalone apps. U4AS is the app repository and editor of Extension Kit's portal.

U4AS produces reusable and responsive applications that are secured by Unit4 Identity Services that work with ERPx/CR.

App Studio currently uses components from two design systems:

The Unit4 NextGen design system (U4 components). Apps created previous to the 251.2.0 release use this design system.
The Unit4 Ripple design system. New apps created after the 251.2.0 release will use this design system.

Both design systems can coexist in App Studio:

If you have created apps previously with U4 components, you can edit, publish, unpublish and delete them, but you cannot duplicate or create new apps with U4 components.
New apps will be created with Ripple components.
You cannot import U4 components apps to a Ripple Canvas or vice versa. To import U4 components apps, you must use the Import app button in the Dashboard.

Note: U4 components is no longer supported and will be eventually deprecated. We recommend that you recreate your apps with Ripple components to take advantage of the latest features and improvements.

Supported browsers and screen resolutions

Supported browsers
App Studio works best on browsers based on Chromium or Webkit, such as the latest versions of Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

Supported screen resolutions
App Studio requires a minimum screen width of at least 1200px so that the UI can be rendered effectively. Choosing a smaller screen resolution could impair the app building experience and the overall accessibility.
